This winter prefers this her and him in lights down dimmin Lockstep spinning Twirlin grinnin And making just about everything imminently intimate we hold on tightly through the night before Christmas another shot at love's enough If I've a gift to give it's love!! This Christmas is just the thing we needed so hold your loved ones near and have a very merry Christmas this year Each far reaching forlorn storm that preceded made this christmas exactly the thing we needed so hold every loved one near and have very merry christmas hold all of your loved ones have an infinitely whimsical, exquisitely magical time to have your loved ones near and have a very merry Christmas this year have a very merry Christmas this year have a very merry Christmas this year!! CHRISTMAS EVE It's oh so near! Christmas Day is almost here and we're all keen on red and green lights I must admit I have been leaning quite far now from believing but it's a cold soul that won't believe tonight so come along we'll linger here sample simple Christmas cheer and never sleep till night turns into day We'll be here waiting we'll wait the rest of the night to catch a glimpse of that gift giver's sleigh high in flight I'm on my I knees And begging you for mercy please I've tried all year to be a better man I know that I've been missing The rules that you've been listing but I'm hoping sir that you will understand so as you make your way around to every house in every town if you have time I hope you'll come this way Oh man I know you're working till the last gift is gone save one or two I do beg you before it strikes dawn the winter scene's serenely set there's one last friend we haven't met If you think you've seen the last of him well, you ain't seen nothin yet but we won't be waiting for gifts to be shaking this Christmas We've packed up every package to give so even if you can't make it this year we'll live You'll find us under the holly and mistletoe that's hung singing every Christmas song there is to be sung We make it cool and easy to get in the mood of good cheer, and when it's over we'll start getting ready for next year WISHLIST She held me captive in time She moved at a speed that confounded me She held my reasons in rhyme so I took to the side and admired her mind but I've started thinking that there'd be no harm in showing you my wishlist baby you're number one on my wish list, baby you're number one it's true Her heart had been taken for a treacherous spin that left her reeling and when he left her she stayed and found every way to keep love at bay darling if you think I would be leaving you anytime soon you'd be wrong I'll show you what it's like to be treated right baby All of this waiting all these feelings fought all these wishes you're ready for or not are just too good to talk about She started warming inside moving in phase, returning my gaze she was the love of a life a hair's breadth away (from saying just what I want her to say) Darling, what you waiting for? There ain't no shame in asking Make a wish list baby c'mon, no more waiting, I'll make it come true I will make it come true All of this waiting all these feelings fought all these wishes you're ready for or not are just too good to talk about Darling, if you're wishing it just write a little letter make a wish list baby make me number one darling if you're wishin it just write a little letter make a wish list baby make me number one on your wish list baby c'mon, no more waiting I'll make it come true WAITING UP FOR YOU (LETTER FROM MRS. CLAUS) So tonight you take the world by surprise. They'll all be up waiting, 'til they close their sleepy eyes All leaving letters proving how they've been good for you. Some scramble, others sleep without a peep but they'll all find their fates fettered when you find this letter showing how I'm better than good for you Because we know it's only for a night I need to say that I still notice and miss you each moment that you're away, but it's also true, that I will be the only one in the whole world to really wait up all night for you So tonight as you take the world by surprise, and you're doing your giving, I hope you realize that each December it seems when you take to the evening sky I'm proud of you and attest to the good you do but that still doesn't make it easy to be at home this evening without your appealing company And I know it's only for a night you'll be away, and you won't be gone for very long I still wish you could stay and though I have you here every other single night of the year I'll still be waiting up for you SLOW CHRISTMAS There's that lovely familiar scent wafting Down the halls of evergreen That can only mean it's Christmas time. Every year it's easy to forget when These days come they rush by if you let them oh I'm bound to slow them down to find the people that we meet more forgiving And the colors steep to reap a deeper hue. And the taking we do all year turn to giving And oh dear, even an old love can seem to be new Oh, I'd like to invite you with me To watch the snowflakes fall slowly There's no fuss, just us, in this slow Christmas As the air fills up with winter tunes And the nights fill with lights strung down the avenue There's a chance our cadence will be soft and smooth There's no need for more shopping bags to be holding Through the hustle and bustle we'll be strolling Through the crisp air's whispered melody Oh, I'd like to invite you with me To watch the snowflakes fall slowly There's no fuss, it's just us, in this slow Christmas FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOU As you drift into my view the warm glow of the fire caresses you, admired by me, it's true--oh how lovely to spend the night falling in love with you I'd repine if I tarried and blithely carried on my way into this night of merriment I understand it's a bitter winter wonderland but take the temperature falling with a grain of salt darling the main thing that's falling is you, you'll see, the weather will warm when you're with me the sounds begin to die down there still lingers a few including me and you it's true oh how lovely to spend the night falling in love with you I'd repine if I tarried and blithely carried on my way into this night of merriment I understand it's a bitter winter wonderland but take the temperature falling with a grain of salt darling the main thing that's falling is you, you'll see, the weather will warm when you're with me you'll see, the weather will warm when you're with me you'll see and when you're with me I'll take your temperature rising as a sweet indication of a warm invitation from you to me oh baby, you must be falling in love with me and I too, am falling in love with you TOGETHER AGAIN There is a hint of potent fare apparent in the winter air for all to merit. Though our cravings cry to up and fly to take the baited pumpkin pie until that cry is sated, how we halt for the missing company that we exalt! Our absentee friends and family will surely take great care to make their long-awaited way to here. They must know we are famished to a fault, and this ripe culinary air makes waiting just too much to bear, but we'll try not to care because we will refrain from popping that champagne until we're all together again! There's much imbued laughter after an aperitif or two. Now waning our abstaining attitude, we see our forthcoming party to be increasingly taking on understanding. Though the height of rudeness we risk taking just a bite, delaying something just to be polite now seems to be a fleeting sentiment of a gentleman chagrined by peppermint accentuated by the fire. So grab the cinnamon to grind, all the gingerbread that you can find. I'm sure they wouldn't mind because we'll still refrain from popping that champagne until we're all together again! Our bites and sips have left their guilty crumbs upon our lips. Now waiting for that morsel of regret we sit and get a bit enlightened when we find our peace of mind as appetites wind back in time. Can your hear that opening door? We still won't miss what we were waiting for! We'll take their coats, they'll doff their caps, then laugh and reminisce perhaps. With our hunger relapsed we'll toast after the main course with that champagne when we are all together again! WHISPERS OF HOME I know the subtle, the slow, the untouched snow seen through a frost cloaked window as whispered words float though, I forego I feel a call to the charm, the indelible warm of a coffee and cinnamon morn wafting softly through close company What a wonder, here to be, wrapped in longing memory of a winter night where we laughed and shared the scene While I wander, how I pine down this dithered path of mine, for an untouched patch of snow towards a frost cloaked window If I were to stumble upon that path I'd know the one with the subtle, the slow whispers of home MY FAIR LADY My fair lady dares to love me through the New Year to Valentine's and from the first to the last day of springtime she's mine My fair lady dares to love me in warm summer air and the Fourth of July's bright lights and when the day equals night my baby'll be holding me tight Some call love livin' some call it heaven I just call out thanksgiving, dear, that my lady, she loves me, through every season she loves me throughout the year My fair lady dares to love me When we're putting up our Christmas lights She loves me when the mood is off and when the mood is just right My fair lady dares to love me when the ground's covered in snow She loves me when we're dancing fast and when we're dancing so slow Some call love livin' some call it heaven I just call out thanksgiving, dear, that my lady, she loves me, through every season she loves me throughout the year Oh my fair lady dares to love me! Every chance she gets she kisses and hugs me and I love her right back with a baffled, deep-set kinda love Some call love livin' some call it heaven I just call out thanksgiving, dear, that my lady, she loves me, through every season she loves me throughout the year my lady loves me oh she loves me throughout the year she's drivin me crazy! oh she loves me throughout the year even when the grounds covered in snow she loves me when we're dancing fast and when we're dancing slow that's when I call out thanksgiving dear that my lady, she loves me through every season she loves me throughout the year. THOSE MEMORIES I remember clearly when December wasn't merely just another month that passes by in time. Every night my family would countdown to a mystery, those memories are the fondest of mine. Maybe if I tried to get a wee bit more excited I could bring back some of that authentic cheer, so I wish a very merry Christmas to you this and every year. The winter is inspiring but concurrently tiring no worse is there a time to be alone. Holly snow and mistletoe stockings and gifts tied up with bows and not a single place to be but home. Family and friends all put aside their differences with nary a reason to shed a tear. All of these a sign that Christmas time is oh so very nearly here. I remember clearly when December wasn't merely just another month that passes by in time. Every night my family would countdown to a mystery, those memories are the fondest of mine. Maybe if we tried to get a wee bit more excited we could bring back some of that authentic cheer, so I wish a very merry Christmas to you this and every year. THE REAL THING Oh you know that a slow dance is a mystery explained solely as a romantic excuse to be close to the one you're holding on to Every word that you say is an epiphany Every moment you stay means the world to me, and when you go, I know you're with me still Because I can tell that you are the real thing I can tell that you are the real thing We could chalk these sparks up to the firelight and these jackhammer hearts to this cold winter's night, but when the embers die down and you've found you still felt your heart melting when it's just you and me around that should tell you that this is the real thing I can tell that you are the real thing We could dim these lights down, but we don't need them low We could walk for hours in the snow all that you already know because you are the real thing I can tell that you are the real thing We could chalk these sparks up to the firelight and these jackhammer hearts to this cold winter's night but when the embers die down and you've found you still felt your heart melting when it's just you and me around that should tell you that this is the real thing I can tell that you are the real thing THIS NEW YEAR'S EVE I wasn't part of that initial influential conversation When you spoke half-heartedly of the upcoming celebrations and how you might be lonely on this upcoming New Year's Eve Well, I could be the one this winter to hold your hands and to warm 'em Take you out to dinner then take you up by the arm I'm sure there is a floor that needs four more feet with a beat to tap to When the count gets to ten the moment might just pass us by We'll be too busy tearing up the dance floor to be singing Auld Lang Syne Well, I hear there may be another potential suitor So listen closely darlin' to the words I'm singing to ya All we need is one you and one me on this New Year's Eve Well, you know what I'm saying my cards are all down, baby, now don't be keeping me waiting Well, you see what I need is for you to be right next to me Oh, honey, what a pity to be lonely in this city with the shoes of a dancer, c'mon give me an answer chances are you'll fancy a tune or two Well, I hope you can tell that the spell you cast has stuck fast to my heart and sparked my new ebullient demeanor at the thought of being seen with you When the count gets to ten the moment might just pass us by We'll be too busy tearing up the dance floor to be singing Auld Lang Syne Well, I hear there may be another potential suitor So listen closely darlin' to the words I'm singing to ya All we need is one you and one me on this New Year's Eve
